i visited our gp with my 11 mths old girl for cream for sore skin and it resulted in a grilling from the doc about our choice not to vaccinate. i was exhausted trying to fight my corner and left feeling deflated. any tips on how to tackle this ? also i believe they were possibley trying to de-register her because of this. |

Yup.... find a new doctor and don't speak of your decision.
I'm glad you stood firm with your decision. That's hard to do.
I've pushed more doctors off with these words....
***********
doc: We need to vaccinate today.
me: Well I've heard some stuff I'm not comfortable with.
doc: You can't believe everything you hear. What have you heard ?
me: Scary stuff. Do you have anything for me to read ? I'd really like to read more before I allow vaccines.
doc: Sure. let me get you some pamphlets.
me: wow.that'd be great. Thanks.
**********
This makes the doctor feel big and important. This gets me off the hook. I take the pamphlets and usually shred them into tiny pieces and throw them away , or burn them in my fireplace .
With Emergency Room doctors..it looks more like this...
********
doc: We need to vaccinate for this injury.
me: I will see her regular doctor for vaccines.
doc: She needs vaccinated for this or (insert fear story here to make me panic and get vaccines)
me: I understand that. We will see her regular doctor for routine shots. I will not discuss this again.
*******
And from then on be firm...that you will speak of vaccines only with your regular doctor....and unless they follow up..which has never happened with me...they won't know.
I have been let go from several doctors offices because I don't vax my kids. _________________ I can't think of anything witty to put here. |

thanks for that. i'm sensing that they are pushing it with my daughter as she is the youngest (12mths). my older boys 8 and 5 are also not vaccinated or stopped with the oldest and they dont sem to bother so much. its like they sense its too late.
i think you are right in trying to move away from discussing with them . its so intimidating when they are (supposed to be ) the so called expert and have the upper hand! |

They only have the upper hand if you give it to them.
You are PAYING them. That means they are working FOR YOU. YOU set the boundaries and limits. YOU are in charge.
Really glad to hear you've stuck to your guns.
Did you notice between your eight year old and your 12 month old how many MORE vaccines they want to give a small child ? Ridiculous. _________________ I can't think of anything witty to put here. |

Sorry to hear that. Although being 2 month's premature probably hasn't helped.
Just as an aside, look for something else besides the speech. My sons adenoids were blocking his nasal cavity and his speech was horrible, even with therapy. We've had his adenoids removed and it's cleared his speech up faster than 6 months of speech ever could have.
Hey, did you hear the one about the study they did that shows that vaccines don't cause autism? And in boys substantially more than girls. Yeah... must be the vaccine... |

The reason more boys have autism than girls is because testosterone aggravates mercury's toxic effects.
As far as the "gene theory" goes...
These researchers justify their hunt for autism genes by pointing to studies of twins: while anywhere from 36 to 96 percent of both identical twins have autistic features, this is true for only 0 to 33 percent of fraternal twins. The very spread of these figures shows that claims of full genetic causation are flimsy; and these same figures can equally be used to argue that environmental factors must play a role, since the concordance for identical twins is not 100%.
