These are the letters I sent to my son's neurologist after
I decided they were not interested in my son's recovery.
Dear Dr. XXXXX
I just wanted to take little time to thank you for Chase’s treatment. You
see if it wasn’t for you and your tenacity, we might still be on the
Ketogenic diet and not enjoying the beginning of nine months seizure free. I
was the mother who wanted the diet first before Tegretal but in your desire
to follow protocol to the letter, you forced me to look for alternatives to
your care. Since everything always works together for good, I found that
care in Drs XXXX and XXXX. With their help Chase stopped seizing three weeks
after our 1st visit. I prefer this time frame to that of Tegretal. If I’m
not mistaken, that was two years, plus wean seizures? Anyway Chase is great.
I can see no lasting damage. He is learning in leaps and bounds and is
talking up a storm. So I again thank you for not giving in to my wishes,
holding fast to your belief in drugs and sending me on my way. It was the
best thing that could have happened to Chase.
Sincerely,
Wendy Callahan

Dr. XXXX,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for Chase’s treatment. If it wasn’t
for you and Dr. XXXX he might still be on the Ketogenic diet and not
enjoying our eight months and counting, seizure free days. Luckily you and
Dr. xxxx refused to put him on the diet and I was adamant about not having
him on Tegretal, so this divergence forced me to make a choice between
listening to you and finding another doctor. Wisely it seems, I chose the
latter. It only took 3 weeks to seizure free! I will sing praises for
Doctors xxxx and xxxxx for the rest of my life. I was the mother you spoke
to in December about what I considered vaccine damage to my son. The fact
that his seizures have stopped only reinforces my belief it was vaccine
damage. I remember how nice you were in offering to educate me on how wrong
my theory was! I decided to educate myself instead starting with my what you
need to know sheet from my pediatrician. It states that 6 out of 10,000 will
have seizures from this vaccine. So that’s 3 out of 5,000 or 1.5 from 2500!
If the lottery had odds like that I’d play it. I found enough information on
the Internet written by Doctors on the other side of the issue to fill a
38-page paper I wrote to help assuage my pain. Before you try and educate
anyone else why don’t you look for yourself? Take any Internet search engine
and put in vaccine damage and a wealth of information presents itself. I
never wanted vaccines to be the cause of my son’s problems mainly because it
was me who held his leg while he received the shots. I didn’t want to be
wrong about something I had allowed and participated in. I took a two-hour
class in car seat installation at 9 months pregnant, but didn’t take 5
minutes to research vaccines. For this I can never forgive myself.
I’m not sure why you do not want to implicate vaccines in seizure activity
in children when it is stated so clearly on the fact sheet. I guess you must
deny the link or people would find out what vaccines are all about then they
would be stopped or made safer and without seizing children, you might be
out of job. I still have questions to this day as to why you couldn’t put my
child on my preference of treatment. I wanted a drug free diet first before
we tried drugs not after they failed. This makes no sense at all unless
pharmaceutical companies have some hold over you. Maybe the kickbacks are
just to good or maybe you’re like the doctor on the news a few weeks ago who
is being sued for 7 million dollars because he refused to say their new drug
he was doing a study on works well in AIDS patients when it didn’t. How sad
to be a puppet for the drug makers.
Anyway I won’t continue. I’m sure you’ve got kids to drug. My neighbor’s
child is seizing soon after his vaccinations and he’s coming to you for
help. You can tell his parents just like you told me it’s just a
coincidence.
Sincerely,
Wendy Callahan
